The doctoral program in special education administration prepares experienced professional educators and human services professionals for more advanced positions. The educational specialist degree program prepares professionals who already have master's degrees to become change leaders in deaf education, special education, and education. Our Ed. S. program also has a cooperative arrangement with the university's Gallaudet Leadership Institute (GLI), and GLI participants matriculate through the Ed.S. program yearly. The M.S. degree program prepares students for leadership positions in human service organizations as well as special education administration and supervision.
The Department also allows graduate students from other programs on campus to earn a second master's degree or an education specialist degree by exercising the Graduate School and Professional Program's Simultaneous Degree policy. Students interested in working on a second degree at the same time they are working toward a degree in their "home" program should contact the Department for further information.
